Medicine Bow Nordic Ski Patrol
Patrol Log: Saturday, April 11, 1998: F. Lamb

Saturday April, 11 1998

Arrived at Green Rock about 8:15 am. Bruce Burrows of the Alpine patrol dropped me and Jake the Wonder Dog off at the end of the road. I won't bother with the car count since Jerry  was there at about the same time and has reported it. The thermometer at the picnic grounds showed 70 degrees in the sun. Things were warming up fast.

Snow course marker was 56". Skied up the Libby Creek Loop to the top and dug a very hasty pit. After a quick observation that things looked pretty solid Jake and I took off before the sun had a chance to turn things to mush. Skiing was awesome. Just a little corn on a frozen base. I clocked it at 530 vertical feet to the lower trail. This run will be good for another couple of weeks or so.  It is the most vertical you can get to in such a short amount of time.
I climbed out and took the Barber Lake Road down to the ski area via the snowmobile road.  Susan S-T and her crew shared  BarBQ on the deck at 4A and I helped them with sweep. Good day.
