Summary of Day:
Centennial visitors Center closed.  Skied potholes route.
Temperature 20 F with winds of 10 to 15 mph.
Met 4 sledders near Green Rock.
Met 3 skiers on the trail and 3 snowmobilers near Mountain Home cabins.
Intermittent light snow and sun.  Snow was icy to crust conditions.

   Location: UTM 0396572; 4579890
       (Near St. Albin's Chapel on Potholes route)
   Elevation:  10,398 ft
   Aspect:  S in scattered conifers
   Slope:  15 degrees
   Conditions: partly cloudy to cloudy, light snow & windy (10 to 15mph),
   Air temperature 20 F
    Snow Pit Characteristics :
       0 to 3 cm: stellar crystals
       3 to 5 cm: ice layer
       10 cm temperature �6 C
       30 cm temperature �6 C
       5-39 cm slab, 2-finger hardness, 1/2 mm welded columns.
       39 to 53 cm: Fist-hardness, 1-2 mm capped columns.
       50 cm temperature �3 C
       53 to 59 cm:ice layer
       60 cm temperature �2 C
       59 to 69 cm: Fist hardness, 1 mm capped columns
       Total snow depth 69 cm (27 in)

Stability Tests
Rutschblock: easy shear at 5 cm.

Modified Shovel Shear: Shear at 5cm, 53-59cm ice layer, and 59-69 cm.
