Medicine Bow Nordic Ski Patrol
Patrol Log:  Saturday, January 29, 2000:  T. Thibodeau (K. Chamberlain, R. Behounek)
Arrived at the Green Rock trail head about 9:00 to assist with
the Nordic candidate ski and toboggan test.  The skies were
clear with mild winds.  The temperature was in the high teens
to mid 20s during the course of the day. Skied with five
patrollers, six candidate patrollers and six other skiers
up the Potholes corridor to large meadow above Little Brooklyn
Lake.  We had the candidates construct emergency toboggans
and transport mock victims in the toboggans.  We then bushwacked
west to St Albins Chapel and reviewed the Sheriff Departments
emergency equipment and procedures.  We then bushwacked east
to the power line above Mountain Meadows and conducted the
candidate ski test (all candidates passed).  We then followed
the power line back to the Green Rock trail head.

(Henry and Cheryl dug a snow pit at the large meadow above
Little Brooklyn Lake.  I will provide this data when I receive it.)

I stayed at the Snowy Mountain Lodge on Friday night and was
unable to make a vehicle count at the various trail heads.
During the course of the day we encountered only five skiers
this is probably due to the fact that we were off trail most
of the day.
