Medicine Bow Nordic Ski Patrol
Patrol Log:  Monday, December 23, 2002:  J. Hamann
While at Snowy Range Ski Area, was contacted by an off-duty
Laramie Fire Department employee who had come upon a snowmachine
accident in the Snowy Range backcountry.  Contacted LARC and
arranged to activate delivery of a rescue sled and gear from
the cache.  Traveled Barber Lake Road to Green Rock, then
up Highway 130 to the Libby Flats Observation point, turned
south on snowmachine trail T.  Continued approximately 9 miles
to the scene of the accident.  Transportation of two patients
had already begun with the aid of a personal snowmachine and
a trail grooming "cat."  Continued on trail T to intersection
with Q, then to Albany (with a trail mishap enroute, one member
of the rescue group collided with a tree and required on-scene
attention).  Patients transferred to Centennial and LFD
ambulances.

Refueled snowmachine and returned with Sheriff's personnel to
recover rescue group machine.  Returned to Snowy Range Ski
Area at 4pm, via trails Q, T, Highway 130 and Barber Lake Road.
USFS snowmachine refueled and returned to cache, ACSO rescue
sled cleaned up and returned to storage in SRSP garage.
