Patrol Log: Saturday, February 7, 2004: R. Howell
On Saturday Feb. 7, from 1:45 to 5:30 PM Bob Howell skied several of the 
loops originating at the Little Laramie trailhead, including the River
Trail and the eastern part of the River Loop, the eastern section of the
Lodgepole Loop, and the Meadow Loop.  The snow conditions in the trees were
generally good, with only a couple downed tree limbs across a trail, mostly
buried.  A few rocks were exposed along open south-facing portions of the
River Trail in the lower part near Highway 130 and on the open slopes near
the top, but they could be avoided.  There were approximately 3 inches of
new snow from the last couple days, and in the shaded areas there was a
base of 1-2 ft.  The temperature was 32F, it was sunny, and winds were
almost calm in this relatively sheltered area.
