Medicine Bow Nordic Ski Patrol
Patrol Log: Saturday, February 14, 2004:  M. Allen

14 February 04, 09:00 - 15:30, Snowy Range. Helped as an instructor in
the Dan McCoy's level-1 avalanche class, conducted through UW's Outdoor Adventure
Program. We ran a field session at the top of the Ladies' Downhill on the Libby Creek
Trail. We ran two rescue scenarios, conducted a probeline, dug snowpits, and had the
students execute many beacon searches. There were many snowpits, all of them on
the southeast-facing slopes above Libby Creek. The snowpack was shallow (ranging from
0 ft to 3 ft), with a layer of depth hoar just above ground level.
