Medicine Bow Nordic Ski Patrol
Patrol Log:  Saturday, March 20, 2004: R. Kubichek
I skied the upper part of Barber Lake trail (from Green Rock to the intersection with the road,
and return along the road) twice: Once clockwise, and once counterclockwise.
At 8:30 there were no cars at Little Laramie parking lot, no cars at Corner Mountain,
29 vehicles with trailers between Green Rocks and the Barber Lake Road turnoff, and I forgot to
get a count above Green Rock. There were 4 vehicles without trailers at Green Rock in the morning
and by afternoon, one additional vehicle with snowmobile trailer (tsk tsk tsk) was also
parked in the Green Rock lot.

There were 32 inches of snow at the marker at the top of the trail.

The trail conditions were pretty good, all things considered. Skiing was a bit
treacherous before the sun softened up the icy stretches of the trail.
One short segment of the road was snowless, although about a 2-foot streamer of snow
still survived along the shoulder that was marginally skiable. This will no doubt melt
off in a couple of days, requiring a short hike.

No other skiers were seen in the morning, one party of 4 was seen in the early afternoon.
Most sane people were out riding their bikes and working on their tans.
