Medicine Bow Nordic Ski Patrol
Patrol Log:  Saturday, April 24, 2004: R. Kubichek
I snowshoed in vicinity of Green Rocks. A beautiful clear day. Bit of wind.
At 9 AM there were no vehicles in any parking lots or parked along the
road east of Green Rocks. There were 10 vehicles with trailers parked
above the Green Rocks parking lot. At about 1 PM there were approx 20 vehicles
above Green Rocks and 4 vehicles below, all with trailers.
Apparently about 1 ft or so of snow had fallen recently,
and the Green Rocks parking lot had not been plowed. Consequently no one
was parked there, although a high clearance vehicle could have gone in.
The Libby Creek trail was not groomed; there were numerous
snowshoe tracks, and only one set of ski tracks. The upper part of the
trail that I was on still seems in pretty good shape for skiing or shoeing.

After fooling around on the Libby Creek Trail for a while, headed
over to Swastika and lower Swastika lakes, and down the drainage
back to the parking area. Saw no signs of other skiers or snowshoers.
Only snowmobilers. Radio was quiet.
