Medicine Bow Nordic Ski Patrol
Patrol Log:  Friday, December 9, 2005:  J. Pohl
Friday December 9, 2005. After yet another car related fiasco (still
unresolved), I was able to find a second vehicle to get to the Tie City
trailhead for the first 5K at 5PM ski race put on by the MBNA.  There
were apporximately 44 racers and miscellaneous others on the trail.  It
was done completely in the dark.  Christi Boggs and other organizers had a
very good handle on the number of racers.  And everyone appeared to be
accounted for at the end. (Which is a far sight better than other events
that periodically occur.) The temperature was pleasant. (low 20's?) With a
stiff but not overbearing breeze.  I did a sweep on the approx. 2.5
course.  It was well marked with glow sticks.  No one was on the course
when I skied it, and the parking lot was empty when I signed off at about
6:15 PM.  Oh and I found my boots which someone had kindly put into the
warming shack.
