Medicine Bow Nordic Ski Patrol
Patrol Log:  Saturday, February 4, 2006:  M. Allen
04 Feb 06:  0900 - 1600, Medicine Bow National Forest.  Helped instruct
a level-1 avalanche field session at the Ladies Downhill on Libby Creek
Trail. Practiced beacon searches, snowpit evaluation, and rescue
scenarios. Results of a test pit dug on a SE-facing slope (35-40
degrees) were as follows:

Two Rutschblocks failed at the uppermost easy shear layer, one with
score 3, the other with score 4.
