Medicine Bow Nordic Ski Patrol
Patrol Log:  Sunday, March 19, 2006:  R. Howell
On Sunday March 19, 2006 Bob Howell and Joe Pohl skied the Potholes
trail from Green Rock to the 2nd esker, about 1/2 of the way to
Brooklyn Lake. We replaced the blue flagging on this lower 1/2
of the route where it was getting sparse. The upper part probably
still needs reflagging.

The trail conditions were good with a few inches of new snow over
the last 24 hours. It was cloudy with a temperature 25F and little
wind. There was light snow earlier in the day, increasing towards
late afternoon. Someone before us had made tracks up to the first
esker. We were breaking trail beyond that. A snow machine had
attempted to follow the trail from the lower meadows up into the
woods above them, but had turned around after about 300 yards
along the trail in the woods.
