Medicine Bow Nordic Ski Patrol
Patrol Log:  Sunday, December 31, 2006:  D. Moncecchi, L. Moncecchi, J. Moncecchi, S. Pounder

Lori, Dino, Johannah & Sandi with two minions (Danny and Nate) and 3 four-footed-furry critters. Skied from Green Rock on the Pot Holes Trail not quite reaching the road where a snow pit was dug.  The group returned on the same trail touring from about 1 – 5 PM.  The weather was pleasant and the temp. around 20°F.  Two other skiers were returning on the trail.  We were involved in a S&R.  One of the furry critters, to remain nameless, but is large and white, as it turned out, fell asleep in a snow hole while others were digging a snow pit.  At the approximate ¾ point back, the tour members became aware of the fact that a four-footed member has not been seen.  Even though the group was sure that the culprit, if you will, was at the parking lot harassing bubbleheads, a funny feeling, and the fact that the group was above the climb, led the group to decided that two patrollers should return to the snow pit site and the rest proceed to the lot.  After awhile the two members returning up the trail found the critter sheepishly trotting down the trail.   A successful S&R.  Having 2 radios came in handy.
