Medicine Bow Nordic Ski Patrol
Patrol Log:  Sat. April 16, 2011:  Mark Daly

WTLE and I headed down Barber Lake Trail & Road this Saturday, over 18” new snow by  noon and I’d guess 30” for the weekend above 9,000ft.  I did not get a chance to count the trailers along 130, but did run across two other skiers on Barber Lake Trail.  Neither had skins and I imagine there ski back to the top was extremely exhausting, but I did all the trail breaking, so hopefully that helped them.  I would call the snow medium density with occasional graupel in the late afternoon.  I was very exhausted after breaking trail for over 3 miles and of course the dog did her fair share as well.

Greenrock showed 90” total Sunday morning.  I had Sharon drop dog and I off at the top and we skied all the way back to the cabin.  It appeared that one other skier and dog where ahead of us and they headed to Libby Creek Loop.  More than likely it was Snowcat Mike and Bubba.   I find it unreal that Headquarters trail is still skiable this late in the season.
