Medicine Bow Nordic Ski Patrol
Patrol Log:  Sat. March 15, 2014:  R. Howell, J. Pohl

On Saturday Mar. 15 Bob Howell and Joe Pohl skied up the Potholes Route through the lower meadows then into the woods a relatively short distance. There was occasional sun and occasional light snow, with the temperature in the 30's. Approximately 1 foot of fresh powder had fallen recently, completely covering any tracks in the lower portions. The old tracks were just visible in places in the woods. We didn't get very far given the short time we had available and the need to break new trail. But even with the short time out, because of the wind and the fresh powder, our lower tracks were already obscurred by the time we returned. We didn't see any other skiers. We parked along the road as conditions in the Green Rock lot were marginal and we were concerned that drifting snow could trap us there.
