Remarks: Significant snows had fallen during the past two weeks, accounting
for almost a meter of new snow on top of the snowpack recorded on 11 January.
Snowpack in the backcountry seemed much stabler, but sudden settling still
occurred several times during the day.
25 Jan 98, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Snowy Range Ski Area. Volunteered a duty day
with the Snowy Range Ski Patrol. Carried a Forest Service radio. Skiing was
excellent, on about 6 inches of new powder.
