Did upper Libby Creek trail.  Estimate 50 degrees F. Meet one individual
who complained about snowmobiles. Accompanied 4 skiers from Colorado up
Libby Creek trail till it flattens out. After lunch, Rich and I skied
towards Bear Lake.

Comments: Unlike last year, it is common for greater than one hundred
snowmobiles to be parked at the end of the road.  There is a continual
line of snowmobiles from the Snowy Mountain Lodge to the small parking
lot past the Barber Lake turnoff.  Last year, this amount of vehicles
was common only for holiday weekends. This year, it is common to have
greater than 100 snowmobiles every weekend!  The blue cloud at the end
of the road is thick at times.  Many people are from the Midwest states
and Colorado.  They are not courteous to skiers and often go on or
across cross country ski trails.

Snowmobilers disregard signs to stay off cross country trails.  Ski
trails need to have more obvious signs to discourage snowmobile traffic
on ski trails!  Rich and I saw tracks that indicated snowmobiles were on
the Libby Creek trail.

Skiers needed to park by 8 a.m. at the end of the road.  Skiers continue
to accommodate snowmobilers by changing the places they ski.
