Ran into Janet Smith who was planning to bounce up the road on snow machine.
She did the car count so I'll dispense with that.

Skied the potholes trail up to the first nice meadow for some turns.
Dug a pit on a 15 degree slope. There was about 18" new on 12" granular
on 8" depth hoar. It didn't look real good but it took a lot of pressure
to get it to shovel shear. It sheared right in the middle of the 12"
of granular which indicated fairly good cohesion between the layers.
Still pretty spooky looking though with all that depth hoar on the
bottom. The wind was pretty bad so I called it a day at 2:00p.m.
