Medicine Bow Nordic Ski Patrol
Patrol Log: Saturday, December 18, 1999: J. Smith,
F. Lamb, R. Behounek
Rich Behounek, Janet Smith, Mike (of Mikes towing service) and myself skied
the Libby Creek Loop. It was cold and snowy. 22 degrees at the snow stake,
which was at 17 inches. We dug a pit at the 10,000 foot level where you top
out on the loop. Temp there was 18 degrees. We were on a 25 degree slope
with a S, SE orientation. Shovel shear tests had the snow shearing before
the shovel blade touched the snow.
