Medicine Bow Nordic Ski Patrol
Patrol Log: Sunday, December 9, 2001: Moncecchi
(Dino and Lori) and Thibodeau
The end of the road had about 50 vehicles -- there were about 6 at
Little Laramie! We parked at Green Rock Parking Lot -- there were about
ten cars; no trailers! The Barber Lake Trail snow post registered 15"
-- it needs chicken wire so that the snow around it doesn't get
stomped. We skied the Libby Creek Trail, at the corner we went up the
first drainage to no-name bog. It was gorgeous with great snow, we were
suprised, the sun was out and it was calm. We returned to the corner
and skied the bottom half of Libby Creek, where as you might have
guessed the snow was much thinner and did some crash, bang sudden stops
-- be careful. There were so many anchors exposed, i.e. thin snow
cover, that we didn't dig a pit. We saw parties of 2 and 1 on the LCT
and a party of 2 @GRPL and some tracks going up the Potholes Trail.
