Medicine Bow Nordic Ski Patrol
Patrol Log: Sunday, January 15, 2006:  B. Howell
January 14, 2006

On Sunday Jan. 15 Bob Howell skied the Potholes route from Green Rock Picnic Ground
to just past the 2nd esker, approximately 1/2 the way to Brooklyn Lake. The
conditions were good with 4 inches of new powder. Even the south-facing meadows
near the start of the trail had good snow with just a couple rocks or branches
near the surface. There was about 4 feet of snow in the trees.

Although the wind was very high in the morning it had calmed significantly by
afternoon, and as usual was fine once in the shelter of the trees. The
temperature was 24F at 2PM. There was intermittent sun and very light
snow showers.

I passed a pair of skiers on their way down. From the trail it looks
like it has had several groups on it this weekend.

The car counts as of 11:45AM were:

Corner Mountain Lot 0 8
Little Laramie Lot 0 10
Below Cattleguard 47 3
Cattleguard to Turnaround 27 5
Green Rock Picnic Gnd. Lot 0 10

Total 89 41
