Medicine Bow Nordic Ski Patrol
Patrol Log: Sunday, March 9, 2008:
R. Howell and J. Pohl
On Sunday
March 9 Bob Howell and Joe Pohl, and Joe's friend John Paul, skied the
Barber Lake Trail from Green Rock Picnic Ground to the Centennial
Visitor Center. The weather was sunny and calm with a temperature
in the 30's. There were 47 inches of snow at the snow stake at
the start of the trail. Conditions were very nice with about 4
inches of relatively fresh powder at the top of the trail, decreasing
to about 1 inch of powder near the bottom. It did however look
like the snow under the powder was relatively packed and icy. We
didn't meet anyone on the main part of the trail -- but a several
people were setting out from Green Rock as we got ready.
The car counts were as follows.
