Medicine Bow Nordic Ski Patrol
Patrol Log: Fri. March 20, 2009:
J. Pohl
On Friday March 20th Aldo the blunder dog and I skied
up the Barber
Lake Road to the intersection of highway 130. We started out at
approximately 10AM. The snow temperature was right at 32 F.
The air temperature ranged
from about 35 to mid 40's. There was partial coverage in most spots to
make skiing possible. One exception was between mile 1.5 and 2.5.
(approx) that was free of any snow whatsoever. We reached the top
of the road and had lunch. We the cut back to the Barber lake
trail and descended back to the car. The snow coverage on the
trail
was adequate but very spring like conditions. We arrived back at
the
car at approximately 1PM.
No contacts were made with skiers or snow machine enthusiasts. No
car count was made because the numbers were very low at the top and
would have been partial anyway.
